Reality star Kate Gosselin made an expensive image shift in preparation for her Dancing With the Stars debut.
She was reported to have spent an overwhelming amount of $7,000 for hair extensions. According to stylist Ted Gibson, “they would probably cost around $5000." Adding to that are the $950 for the haircut plus $500 for the coloring.
Moreover, the expensive extensions took almost 20 hours. “Bonding extensions to those little hairs really took time. I would say 15 of those hours were working on Kate, trying to convince her to cut her bangs. But in all those hours, she didn’t complain once. She was so open to whatever I suggested, and willing to try just about anything,” shared Ted.
Ted has also done Angelina Jolie and Anne Hathaway’s tresses in the past.
Meanwhile, the 34-year-old, mother of eight, who is fresh from her divorce debuted her sexy blonde extensions as she posed for the latest cover of People Magazine.
“It’s good to have hair again. I never thought I’d have short hair for as long as I did. I feel like this is a fresh start, a fresh me, a fresh life… I am now Kate Clean Slate,” said Kate.
Kate divorced ex-husband Jon Gosselin in December 0f 2009. They starred in a TLC reality series Jon & Kate Plus 8. Kate also referred to her big shift as “rebuilding.”
Raising her eight children alone, Kate also managed to maintain her curves by eating salads and going on a regular workout and a spa treatment.
