10 She Appeared In A Springsteen Music Video

Courteney Cox's entrance into the acting world was not television, it was music. Some people might recall the music video for Bruce Springsteen's song Dancing In The Dark, and the beautiful girl that he pulled up from the audience and sang to. That was none other than Courteney. The storyline of the video was that a group of friends was attending a concert, with one of them being the lucky one to catch Bruce's attention. He wasn't the only one to notice him, though. In 1985, way before Friends blew up, Courteney was chosen to star in NBC's science-fiction series Misfits of Science. She played Gloria, a teenage telekinetic who was incredibly powerful but was not completely in control of her abilities. The Trouble with Larry was a short-lived CBS sitcom that aired for a few months in 1993. It wasn't very successful, but it was Courteney's last sitcom role before her breakthrough in Friends. She played Gabriella Easden, the main character's sister-in-law. The premise of the show was that Larry Burton, portrayed by Bronson Pinchot, would return home after faking his death and find that everyone in his life, including his wife, has moved on. In a weird turn of events, he would end up running into Gabriella and falling in love with her, but not only did she not return his feelings, she also hated his guts.

6 She Starred In 'Scream'

Scream was a movie that Courteney loved from the very first moment, and after all these years, she's been on every movie of the franchise and loves it just as much. She played reporter Gale Weathers, a role she was instantly attracted to.

"I went after it! I wanted to play that part," Courteney said about the first time she read the script. "I loved it. I thought the script was funny and scary, and the opening with Drew Barrymore was insane. I was such a huge fan."

Courteney plays Skeeter's sister Wendy, who has a to take an emergency trip to Arizona and needs Skeeter to take care of her kids. Being around children makes him remember how his and Wendy's dad used to tell them bedtime stories, and decides to do the same with his niece and nephew.

3 She Starred In 'Cougar Town'

In the series Cougar Town, Courteney played Jules Cobb, a recently divorced mother who, after spending decades married to the father of her child, decides it's time to start dating again. It's difficult for her since she's not used to having to pursue someone, but she slowly becomes more comfortable with going out with people.

"I think about what’s great about my character on the show is that she is game for anything. She has so many neuroses that she gets to work out through her relationship, I feel like things – the way Bill and Kevin write it, I just love the way she changes," Courteney said. "She’s just fun. She’s not that smart. And I like that, too – I like that she’s quirky and a cheerleader for her friends. She’s not uptight at all. I love that."

Courteney got to reunite with her old friend Lisa Kudrow, aka Phoebe Buffay, when she guest-starred in her show Web Therapy. Lisa played Fiona, a self-centered, money-hungry therapist who doesn't care about helping her patients and uses the sessions to talk about herself. One of her patients is Courteney's character, Serena DuVall, a psychic who has lost her powers. Apparently, it was Fiona's treatment that saved her, and she tries to use that to get herself fame and money.
