Houston-based rapper BTB Savage passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2023, after being shot in the 2100 block of Mid Lane. The incident occurred just hours after he posted a picture of himself standing in the blood of a man whose death was linked to his name, on his social media.
According to HPD Chief Troy Finner, the shooting took place at around 6:10 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2023, and after reaching the crime scene, the officers found the victim dead.

According to the witnesses, the victim was initially unidentified and was described as a black man in his 20s. He was later identified as rapper BTB Savage. He was driving a white Mercedes when the suspects drove up in a black Subaru to shoot him. Multiple shots were fired at the victim, so the police believe this to be a targeted incident.
After the incident, two suspects got out of the vehicle they came in and fled on San Felipe in an unknown direction. Police are looking at surveillance cameras for further information about the suspects.
