Angela Rummans is gung ho about Tyler Crispen returning to the Big Brother house for the All-Stars season, but she has no plans to keep up with his every move.
“I’ve told everything that I’m not watching the [live] feeds this year,” the 28-year-old told Us Weekly exclusively while promoting her upcoming cookbook, Angela’s Plant-Based Kitchen. “Personally, I don’t think it’s fair that I can turn on the internet and watch Tyler 24/7 and he can’t watch me.”
Angela explained that the couple, who met in 2018 while competing on season 20 of the CBS reality competition, stick to the motto “We’re in this together,” which she does not want to break while he is away.
“I want to make it fair,” she told Us. “If he can’t see me, I can’t see him all the time. Even though I get tagged [in spoilers] and everything on Instagram — which I love being able to see, like, bits and pieces — I don’t feel like I want to watch them all the time.”
The model also acknowledged that watching the feeds can be “addicting,” so she is focused on the release of her 100-plus recipe book instead.
“I took [comfort food] recipes and I made them vegan so that people that want to adjust more to a plant-based lifestyle that maybe aren’t fully vegan … can try it,” she told Us. “It can just open your minds, like new kinds of foods and new ways of cooking. … My reason to write the book was just to open people’s eyes and let them kind of test the waters themselves.”
In the meantime, Tyler entered the Big Brother: All-Stars house on Wednesday, August 5, joining past contestants including Cody Calafiore, Da’Vonne Rogers, Janelle Pierzina and Nicole Franzel.
“I just told him to try and enjoy himself and just have a good time,” Angela told Us, noting that she and the 25-year-old hope he wins the $500,000 grand prize so that they can open a vegan, plant-based restaurant.
“I would love to do it in South Florida because I feel like where we live in Hilton Head, [South Carolina], people aren’t really ready for a full vegan restaurant because it’s very, like, Southern and fried chicken and seafood,” she explained. “I would love to do it somewhere that’s ready for it.”
Big Brother: All-Stars airs on CBS Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 8 p.m. ET.
